An Opening Appeal

Here I go with my first post. I guess I will start with telling you why I decided to start a blog. For a long time I have thought about having one and getting out all the crazy thoughts and rantings I have in my head. But, I didn't do it for a long time because I was afraid of offending people. My whole life I have tried to be as accommodating and open as possible. For the most part, this worked out well and I kept my thoughts to myself as "personal opinions" and remained restrained.

Well, after a while, and especially now, I have started to care less and less if my opinions offend others. I have placated to others long enough, and if my opinions that I express in this blog surprise or offend you, then perhaps you didn't know me as well as you thought. I am going to be transparent. I will be honest and leave my opinion out in the open. Personally, I don't care too much how many people read this. I am doing it for me first. If you support me, great. If not, oh well. This is my sounding board. I can foresee that many posts will be angry. Sometimes annoyed. Rarely to express joy and triumph. People spend too much time on the net reading about posts that don't matter. You will not see this as a Twitter replica. Nor will it be a Facebook status updater. I don't care what you had for breakfast, how you hate mondays, or what you are doing tonight. So in that same manner, I won't bore you with mine.

I am a boring person. I like to read, I enjoy school (which is why I am now going for a 3rd degree (that or I'm avoiding paying back my student loans)), I enjoy movies and staying at home with my wife and son. I am opinionated. I love my Roman Catholic faith. I am a fan of Orthodoxy. I love history. Most of the current state of affairs in the world makes me sick.

You will see all of this is you ever decide to read past this post. Welcome to my world, welcome to my mind; it is a crazy place.

  1. It's very very hard to offend me, but you can try! Blogging is an awesome way to document your thoughts - being transparent is key :) You are who you are & that is why you are my friend!
